Situated between “Punta de Calnegre” and “Cabo Tiñoso”
in the Murcia area of south-east Spain, the Mazarrón bay is an ideal
location for scuba diving. The area features beautiful beaches, dynamic cliff-faces
and fascinating wrecks, as well as an average water temperature of 21ºC
(14ºC in winter and 28ºC in summer). With more than 300 days of
sun per year it is no surprise that diving takes place all year round.
To get to ZOEA Mazarrón from Madrid take the Valencia Road (A3) towards Albacete/Alicante. One in Albacete take the road towards Murcia. As you enter Murcia take the road signposted Almería/Granada. After 35km take the exit for Fuente Alamo/Mazarrón/Bahía de Mazarrón (just after the EL POZO factory). On arriving in Puerto de Mazarrón head straight into the town. Just after passing the EL ARBOL supermarket on the right-hand side you will see a shop called EL FARO selling fishing and diving equipment; turn to the left up this street and take another left at the end. As you head down this last street the dive centre is on the corner, just along from the Guardia Civil police station.
The dive centre has the following timetable:
Weekdays: 10 – 14h
and 16 – 20h
Weekends: 8:00 – close
The dive centre
is open all year, except from the 8th December to the 3st March.
